Communication vs Language

Achraf Agermoune · Communication Means trainer · 2 h ago · 21 views

Learning new vocabulary and memorizing it can definitely be useful, but accumulating words without actively practicing and using them can feel forced and exhausting for students. Without real opportunities to use the language spontaneously, learners can face limitations in communication.

While accuracy is essential, we shouldn’t overlook the importance of free practice and meaningful conversation. Students feel much prouder of themselves when they hold real conversations in class, regardless of lexical and grammatical errors. It is like the difference between memorizing a recipe and cooking intuitively, the second is far more engaging and makes the process much more enjoyable. The most powerful aspect of communication, without a shadow of doubt, is confidence. Worrying too much about errors can create a blockage in the mind, resulting in self-doubt and overthinking.

One should keep in mind that Language in itself is only a tool and a means, not a destination. That's a trap many language learners fall into, which ends up making the language seem like an unreachable mirage.
